Our big, sweet boy Reed was adopted on Sunday, November 10! Yes, I am behind on posting adoption updates if you couldn’t tell!
Reed is an only kitty AND only pet in his new forever home so he’s getting ALL the love and attention his purr parent Paul can give him! I checked in with him the other day to visit and Paul is absolutely thrilled to have Reed in his life and Reed of course is loving every minute! He’s adjusted very well to his new surroundings and has full run of the house.
I had to laugh when Paul told me about one minor incident that had happened recently – apparently, he had left a package of hamburger meat defrosting on the kitchen counter and Reed helped himself to some raw meat! It didn’t come as a surprise to me, I’ve had several feline food raiders myself over the years. I guess I should’ve warned Paul about that…Especially since Reed is the first cat he’s ever had live with him! Oopps…Of course he laughed about it too – but I’m sure he’ll remember to keep anything tempting out of Reed’s reach in the future! The little (well, actually rather BIG) stinker!
Mr. Reed’s vet gave him a clean bill of health and was very impressed with Ten Lives Club’s detailed medical records. All of our kitties who find their forever homes take their shelter vet sheet along with them. When they go to their first free vet visit, all of their vaccinations, tests, treatments and past medical history (at least up to the point of arriving at our main shelter) are documented. That gives their new vet an up to date medical history for their records going forward.
~YAY~ Dr. Fisk – Ten Lives Club’s shelter vet! She’s very dedicated to our kitties and obviously keeps very good notes & records on the many, many kitties that she sees every day. With the exception of one vet tech & a few assistants, she examines, treats & spays or neuters every single kitty that comes through the shelter doors. Quite an impressive and daunting job given that between the months of January 2013 and October 2013, 755 cats & kittens were spayed or neutered. WOW!
Paul will keep us posted on his new housemate Mr. Reed kitty and send along pictures soon! We always look forward to forever home kitty pictures and updates!
Have a wonderful life big boy & enjoy your new forever home! Go easy on the kitty training with Paul and try to stay out of trouble!!
