My head is spinning! I’m so HAPPY!! This has been the best week EVER for adoptions at our location! Five kitties found their forever homes this week! Four adoptions happened on the same day (different days, but 2 days this week there were 2 adoptions on the same day)! How often does that happen? In my experience as a TLC Store Coordinator, NEVER! But I’m over the moon happy that it did.
On Monday, I took Frappe for a home visit/adoption which turned out to be his forever home. He is with the same sweet man that adopted Reed back in November. I called to check in a couple of days later & Paul told me that Frappe has made himself right at home & is happy as ever! Reed is still getting used to the idea of having a “catmate” in HIS house, but since he has been an only kitty for a few months that’s to be expected. Reed will come around! And both of them have Paul’s undivided attention & love!
On Friday morning, little Eve – who is Adam’s sister – was adopted by the same sweet lady who adopted her brother Adam in early January. Ann took Eve home to be reunited with her brother & another playmate (who also happens to be black) Arizona who is 2. Adam AKA Riley has made himself right at home since Ann brought him home in January. He sleeps across her neck like a little black furr necklace purring away all night long. Adam AKA Riley & Arizona play all day long & I’m certain Eve will adjust to her new forever home in no time! Mary – who had fostered both Adam & Eve – said Eve really needed a playmate because her other kitties wouldn’t play with her. A 6 month old kitten needs playmates! Now Eve will have TWO – one of which is her brother!
Friday afternoon, I got a call from a lady who had come all the way from Orchard Park to visit Skye but saw Carley & fell in love with her on the spot. Carley found her forever home & PurrMom Karina yesterday afternoon! The minute I opened her cage to visit with Karina, she ran straight to the chair where her purse was sitting & laid right next to it. It was obvious she had chosen her Purrson! She scooped her up to hold & pet her – while Carley was purring away the entire time.
This morning, volunteer Amy – who was covering the AM shift today – called to tell me there was a woman who wanted to adopt both Crystal AND Tiger together! I was stunned – but HAPPY! I rushed to the store to meet her and she was literally in tears because she knew Crystal & Tiger were meant to be with her & in their forever home together. She had lost her only kitty back in November and was still grieving his loss until she saw posts and pictures of the kitties on our Facebook page & blog. She realized she was finally ready to open her heart to another kitty (or kitties!). When she saw Crystal & Tiger playing together, she knew she had found her new furbabies!
